Jake has been teaching design thinking through STEM literacy for the past 10 years with Thompson School District. In the last five years he developed the award winning drone aviation program called MESArc. The program's success enabled Jake to partner with Flite Test, a leader in recreational scratch build remote control aviation, and authored/directed a comprehensive K-12 Flite Test STEM curriculum that is currently being implemented across the world. Coming to the Innovation Center of St. Vrain Valley Schools allows Jake to take students to new heights in the growing demand of the Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) industry.

A native of southern California, Jake received his Bachelors degree from Fresno State and his Masters from UC Santa Barbara in Education specializing in Curriculum Design. Through his drone development and operating experience he is also a FAA Certified Part 107 small Unmanned Aircraft Systems pilot.

He moved to Colorado in the summer of 2007 with his wife Chrissy, a secondary Math teacher in Loveland, and has three awesome children; Lauren, Grant, and Audrey. Jake's dream is to one day fly in a fighter jet operated by a student he taught through his programs.
