John has been working in public education for 20 years. He began his career as a high school science teacher, coach, and instructional coach. He was part of the first graduating class of Highland High School (Arizona) in 1995, after which he a received a Bachelor’s of Science in Earth Science from the University of Northern Colorado in 2000. He completed his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership  from the University of Phoenix in 2005.

John has experience as a principal at the high school, elementary, and K-12 levels. He has lived in northern Colorado for 16 years. His wife Becky works as an Assistant Vice President – Marketing Loan Officer at American AgCredit. They have two sons, Nolan and Parker, who keep them very busy with sports and other activities, including camping, fishing, and four wheeling.
