Design Doodling with Da Vinci
Learn to Draw Anything! From the earliest human communities to the present day, drawing has served as a primary tool for communication, invention, and understanding. Long before written language, images allowed people to share ideas, solve problems, and imagine better futures. In this course, students will build on that tradition by learning to express complex concepts clearly and precisely. In doing so, they develop not only design fluency but also the empathy required to consider the needs and experiences of others. Whether imagining new technologies or visualizing social change, students will gain the skills to make their ideas accessible, meaningful, and impactful.
Students will be introduced to the art and discipline of visual ideation through both technical and imaginative drawing. Emphasizing foundational techniques such as orthographic projection, exploded view diagrams, perspective drawing, and figure sketching. Students will learn to accurately depict inventions, environments, tools, apparel, and characters through instructor led tutorials and from presentations about Da Vinci and his work.
