Private Pilot Ground School
Prepare for flight school with real pilot skills!
Private Pilot Ground School presents aeronautical knowledge for student pilots focused on the Cessna C-172 Skyhawk and its systems and instruments, basic aerodynamics, aircraft performance, the flight environment, communication procedures, Federal Aviation Regulations, navigation, weather, and aeromedical factors. This course will prepare the student for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Private Pilot Airplane knowledge examination, a requirement to become a certified Private Pilot. Students will be able to master flying skills such as takeoffs, landings, and performance maneuvers to the proficiency of Airmen Certificate Standards (ACS). Students will be prepared to begin flight training at local flight schools.
This course requires concurrent enrollment with Aims Community College and is equivalent to their AVT 1001 Private Pilot Ground School course. Students earn 4 college credits upon successful completion of this course.
