Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), commonly known as drones, have become a part of the modern technological landscape. Gain hands-on experience in maneuvering drones, mastering essential flight techniques, and understanding the principles of safe operation. Explore the world of both fixed-wing and multirotor drones, and discover the unique capabilities and applications of each type. Develop the skills and knowledge required to become a Certified Drone Pilot in the National Airspace System. Even if you're new to aviation, you'll grasp important concepts such as pilot-in-command responsibilities, aircraft performance, aviation meteorology, and the flight environment. With approximately 70% of our class time dedicated to classroom instruction and 30% to hands-on drone maneuvering, you'll experience a well-rounded education that combines theory with practical skills. Additional Benefits:
Industry Certification: Successfully completing this program will make you eligible to take the FAA Part 107 test. Passing this test can earn you the prestigious FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, opening doors to future career possibilities in the drone industry. If you earn this certification you can apply to work for the Innovation Center Aero Team UAS Operations Division and start earning money.
College Credits: We are proud to offer concurrent enrollment with Aims Community College (AVT 1055), where you can earn three college credits upon successfully completing this course. This means that in addition to gaining valuable drone piloting skills, you'll also get a head start on your college journey should you decide to attend Aims Community College.
