  • Choose from one of three camps:
    • Fundamentals of Cybersecurity – Interested in learning about cybersecurity?  This week-long summer course introduces students to cybersecurity and concludes with a national cybersecurity competition for middle and high school students.  The course is designed for students who have not previously participated in cybersecurity competitions and have not previously taken a cybersecurity course.  Some experience in computer science is helpful but not required.  The camp is based on the national CyberPatriot program. Topics will range from how and why to set passwords to setting security policies in both Windows and Unix.  By the conclusion of the course, you will be familiar with cybersecurity, be able to apply the concepts to both Windows and Unix operating systems, and have the opportunity to test your skills against other beginning teams from around the country in a CyberPatriot competition.
    • Advanced Cybersecurity -This week-long course is designed for high school students with cybersecurity experience.  Students who have taken a cybersecurity course or participated on a competitive cybersecurity team will be challenged to take their skills to the next level.  The course will challenge students to better understand cryptographic techniques, apply adversarial thinking to scenarios, identify and manage risk, and improve the cybersecurity of both traditional IT systems and the growing set of Internet of Things devices.  Participants will be practicing their skills using Capture the Flag activities.
    • Beep Beep, R2 -Robots are magic. The opportunity for them to do useful things is large but has been limited to the world of robotics. Now, withMisty II, students can learn how to unleash their potential by bringing the magic of social robots to life.  Misty II provides a new world of opportunities with robots for business, personal, research and educational use. She has a lot of capabilities for students to explore: movement, speech, and even vision recognition. This camp will teach students the tools to start developing their own skills on the Misty II while learning about all the different ways social robots are being used in our society.  Students will be able to code Misty either through Blockly, a block-based program, or text-based languages Python and Javascript.
