In partnership with the Space Foundation, SVVSD is offering the Academy of Space Innovation: Earth is the only planet like it in the universe, and it’s under your protection. In this 2 week, full day hands-on lab, you’ll join an elite team of Global Guardians. You’ll be stepping into the boots of a Space Consultant as you solve Earth’s toughest puzzles to unlock the secrets of space travel. You’ll tackle high-stakes challenges—from cleaning up “space junk” to protecting our water—to prove you have what it takes to lead a mission into the stars. Earth needs you, and the galaxy is waiting! If you can fix it here, you can fix it anywhere in the solar system!

Welcome to the AI and Creativity Camp, where the imaginative world meets the power of Artificial Intelligence! In this exciting and innovative camp, students will embark on a journey through the fascinating realm of AI and its application in the creative arts. Designed for middle school students, this camp is perfect for young minds eager to explore the intersection of technology and creativity. Please note: The activities listed below are suggested and may vary based on available materials and equipment. Our camp is designed to be flexible and adapt to the best resources available.

Suggested Camp Agenda:

  • Introduction to AI: Basics of AI and its creative applications.
  • AI Software Exploration: Hands-on experience with AI tools for art creation.
  • Art Projects: Students will create unique pieces using AI, including:
    • Personalized Logos and T-Shirts: Design and print custom logos and t-shirts.
    • Custom Coloring Books: creativity meets popular culture. Students create their own anime-themed coloring books, using AI to generate and customize their favorite anime styles and characters. This project fosters artistic skills and allows a deep dive into the vibrant world of anime, video game characters, or anything you can imagine.

Have you ever wondered how an airplane flies? You’re not alone! For ages, people have gazed to the sky and pondered flight. In the past century, aircraft have made tremendous advances through scientific discoveries. In this camp, you will learn about the scientific principles that make an airplane fly – whether it is a Boeing airliner or a paper airplane – by building and test flying your own Drone! We will explore different airplane designs by building them, and learn about the different ways they fly! 

Have you ever wondered why a rainforest sounds the way it does, or how scientists use sound to learn about the environment? In Become a Soundscape Ecologist, students will explore how sound reveals the character, health, and story of environments around the world through hands-on listening, recording, and creating. Campers will record sounds from their local environment, practice active listening to identify and describe different ecosystems, and learn how sounds from nature and human activity shape the places we live. Using digital tools, students will transform their recordings into a creative composition project that blends science, music, and storytelling. Families are invited to join during the final hour of camp for a showcase where students will share their work and reflect on what they’ve learned about the sounds that surround us.

Step into the world of cutting-edge science and technology at our Bioengineering & Neuroscience Summer Camp for grades 6–8! Students will explore how engineering and the human body work together by testing a prosthetic hand, learning the basics of neuroscience through hands-on EEG activities, and experimenting with biosensors that measure real biological signals. Campers will have the option to apply coding skills to collect, analyze, and respond to data as they complete engaging projects inspired by NeuroMaker STEM biosensor challenges. This hands-on camp blends creativity, problem-solving, and real-world science to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of innovators.

What does it really take to turn an architectural idea into a finished building?

In this immersive, hands-on camp, high school students will explore the full journey from design concept to construction reality. Throughout the week, students will step into the roles of architects, designers, and builders as they experience the real-world process behind creating spaces that shape communities.

Day 1: Inside the Architecture Studio – Anderson Mason Dale | 3198 Speer Boulevard, Denver, CO 80211
Students will visit the Denver studio of Anderson Mason Dale for a guided experience led by members of the architectural team. The visit will focus on professionals demonstrating key aspects of their work in action—walking students through current and past projects, design processes, and the tools used from early concept development through project documentation.

Students will gain insight through team-led explanations and examples that highlight how 

architects communicate ideas, collaborate internally, and move projects forward. This structured visit will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the creative and technical skills required in the field of architecture.

Day 2: On the Construction Site @ The Innovation Center, 33 Quail Rd, Longmont, CO
Students will tour the new Innovation Center construction site alongside industry professionals from FCI Constructors. They’ll learn about the many roles involved in bringing a building to life—from estimator to project superintendent—and see firsthand how collaboration turns plans into physical structures.

Day 3: Design Thinking Challenge @ Timberline K-8, 233 E. Mountain View Ave. Longmont, CO 
Using the principles of human-centered design, students will tackle a real-world challenge: designing a canopy for the new courtyard. They’ll research, brainstorm, sketch, and refine ideas that balance aesthetics, functionality, and structural considerations, and estimate costs to ensure the design is practical and feasible.

Day 4: Rapid Prototyping @ Timberline K-8, 233 E. Mountain View Ave. Longmont, CO  

Students will bring their ideas to life through rapid prototyping. Using available materials and tools, they’ll build scaled models of their canopy concepts, test their ideas, and iterate based on feedback.

Day 5: Community Showcase @ Timberline K-8, 233 E. Mountain View Ave. Longmont, CO 
The week culminates in a half-day showcase where students present their designs and prototypes to parents and guests—sharing their creative process, what they learned, and how their ideas could shape the future of the campus.By the end of the week, students will walk away with a deeper understanding of architecture, construction, design thinking, and the collaborative effort required to transform a vision into a built reality.

Jump into a week of coding adventures! Campers will explore the basics of coding through games, hands-on activities, and playful robots. Each day brings new challenges—design mazes, create stories, and solve problems using both tech tools and unplugged fun. Campers will share their creative projects and new skills with each other every day!

What if you could help build a game using the same engine behind many of today’s biggest titles? In Venture Into Unreal Game Design, campers will spend four days learning the fundamentals of game development inside Unreal Engine through a project designed by student developers. Campers will experiment with game mechanics, adjust environments, and add their own creative twists to the experience. This camp emphasizes creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on exploration while introducing students to industry-level tools in an approachable, supportive way.

Get ready for a hands-on adventure where science meets creativity! Campers become junior scientists and engineers as they explore how the human body works, as well as how technology can help it move, think, and heal. This camp encourages creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Through fun experiments, art projects, and building challenges, campers will learn the basics of anatomy, physiology, and bioengineering in an exciting, age-appropriate way.

Step into the shoes of people around the world to explore global issues like access to clean water, renewable energy, and education. Dive into fun, hands-on activities like building windmills, creating plastic bottle schools, and designing water filters. Think of creative solutions for these global problems, then get your hands dirty and build your own inventions. Test them out, and at the end of camp, share your best invention with everyone, showing how it can change the world. Don’t miss this adventure where you’ll become an innovator and problem-solver. How can YOU make the world a better place? Students will use the design thinking process to develop innovative approaches to problem-solving. How will YOU make the world a better place?

Get ready for an awesome adventure where you become a character creator! In this camp, you’ll design your very own character, shape it out of clay, and then see it come to life in 3D! Your sculpture will be scanned and transformed into a digital design using special software. And the best part? Your character will be 3D printed, so you can take home a real version of what you created! This camp is perfect for young artists who love to build, design, and explore cool new technology. Let’s make something amazing together!

Lights, Camera, Game On! Game Show Live Streaming is where creativity takes center stage! Students will team up to design, produce, and star in their very own game show. Campers will learn hands-on skills like camera operation, audio production, set design, and live video switching using professional-grade equipment. The grand finale? A live-streamed broadcast of their game show on YouTube for friends and family to enjoy! Whether you’re a future filmmaker, tech wizard, or an aspiring game show host or contestant, this camp is the perfect place for you to shine.

Do you have a great idea you want to turn into a reality? Join us and explore the world of entrepreneurship! Design a real product, purchase materials, manage a budget, produce inventory, create marketing materials, and set up your own storefront. At the end of camp, sell your product to fellow campers and have the chance to purchase others’ creations in our Maker’s Market event! Campers will receive a budget of pretend money to purchase raw materials for their own products and to shop for others’ creations in the market event.

Step inside the world of video games and movies to discover how digital characters move and come to life. In this hands-on STEM camp, students explore real motion capture data used in professional studios to understand what makes animation feel realistic—or completely wrong. Through investigation, analysis, and creative design challenges, students learn how timing, physics, weight, and exaggeration shape character movement. The week culminates in students producing a short stop-motion animation using action figures and presenting their work at a parent showcase.

Have you ever dreamed of sending a robot into outer space? Learn how we use robots to explore space and how humans plan to colonize Mars! You will use the Vex IQ robotic system to create your own Mars Lander to explore the Martian terrain. You will design, build, and program your own robot to complete a Mars themed mission.

This camp is for students 3-5th grade. Have you ever noticed how some robots in movies act just like real people with their own special personalities? That’s called anthropomorphism (an-thruh-poh-more-fiz-um), which is a fancy word for giving human qualities—like being funny, smart, or silly—to machines! Today, you get to use this superpower to build your very own chatbot, designing exactly how it looks on the outside and deciding how it ‘talks’ online. Will your new robot friend be a helpful hero or a goofy jokester? Let’s get building and bring your creations to life!

In this camp, students will learn how to create unique, dynamic experiences by manipulating sound, perception, and the environment. Through sessions focused on technology, science, and design, campers can explore their visionary and creative thinking and push the boundaries of traditional music. Campers will engage in design challenges and project-based learning throughout the week. Camp will conclude with an exhibition of student work (open to families) on the final day.

Movie Magic Camp is a one-of-a-kind summer experience for 3rd – 5th graders. At Movie Magic Camp, campers will explore the art and science of filmmaking to create their own short movies. Campers will learn the basics of cinematography, lighting, and storytelling, as well as how to use editing software to bring their visions to life. Movie Magic Camp provides an unforgettable adventure for any aspiring filmmaker, allowing them to unlock their imagination and create their own unique works of art.

Ignite your child’s passion for innovation at our high-octane, week-long VEX IQ Robotics Camp! This immersive experience transforms students into junior engineers as they dive into the world of mechanical design and autonomous programming. Using the official VEX IQ snap-together system, campers collaborate in small teams to build custom robots equipped with advanced sensors and powerful motors. Throughout the week, they’ll master VEXcode IQ to bring their machines to life, learning how to navigate complex obstacle courses and complete precision tasks through both remote-control and autonomous coding.


The excitement reaches a fever pitch on the final day with our Grand Finale Tournament. Teams put their designs to the ultimate test in a series of head-to-head challenges that emphasize strategy, troubleshooting, and “Gracious Professionalism.” Beyond the technical skills of STEM, students walk away with enhanced confidence in problem-solving and teamwork. Registration

Registration for June camps will be open from March 2 – May 13, 2026. If a camp is full, you can still fill out a registration questionnaire and be put on the waitlist. If a spot opens up, someone from our team will reach out to confirm whether you’d still like to enroll. You will not be charged until you are enrolled in the camp.
