The Innovation Center will be offering both in-person and online classes over the summer to interested students. SVVSD students who will be in grades 9-12 next year are eligible to sign up for these courses. These are high school courses and students will receive a grade for these classes that will go on their high school transcript. Each class counts as 0.5 Practical Arts credits that apply towards high school graduation requirements.
- Dates: June 3 – 27, 2024 (4 weeks)
- Days: Monday – Thursday (no class on Fridays)
- Times: 9am – 12pm (Morning Session) or 1pm – 4pm (Afternoon Session)
- Cost: $150 per class
- Students must be enrolled in a SVVSD high school
- At this time, district transportation is NOT provided.
Absences
If your student plans on missing any days of class, please consider taking these courses during the school year. These are semester long courses condensed into four weeks. Missing one day of summer school is equivalent to missing one week’s worth of content during the normal school year. After three days of absences, your student may be dropped from the class without a refund.

Afternoon Session Offering | 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Dive into your art…literally! This class is equally applicable to those who are interested in understanding AR & VR technologies as well as those who want to use these as tools for solving real-world challenges. Students are introduced to a variety of applications and experiences employing project-based learning techniques which will be used to develop solutions in such areas as societal, industry, academic and community challenges. Working individually and as teams, participants will employ principles of Design Thinking, Project Management, Engineering and the Arts to create new and innovative solutions covering a variety of real-world topics. Projects may include work with industry partners and commercial mentors.

Registration Information
Registration will be open from March 1 – May 23, 2024. If a class is full, you can still fill out a registration questionnaire and be put on the waitlist. If a spot opens up, someone from our team will reach out to confirm whether you’d still like to enroll. You will not be charged until you are enrolled in the class.
